Stefan Rouenhoff
About
Stefan Rouenhoff has been Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy since 2025. He has been a member of the German Federal Parliament since 2017 and, until his appointment to Parliamentary State Secretary, was a member of the Economics Committee as well as chairman of the working group on Africa for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. Prior to his election, he was a trade attaché at the Permanent Representation of Germany to the European Union. From 2012 to 2014 he was spokesman for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. From 2010 to 2012 he served as expert for the SME policy in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology. Prior to that, Stefan Rouenhoff worked as a research associate in the Department for International Economics at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg and spent a research stay at the World Trade Organization in 2010. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Bonn and a master’s degree in International Studies from the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom).
