About

Maria Laparidou is co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Orbem, the Munich-based deep-tech company using industrialized, AI-powered MRI to see the world from the inside out.

An expert in animal physiology and reproductive biotechnology, she earned her doctorate at LUM Munich and brought the biological depth that grounds Orbem's imaging technology in real world problems. Her work has been central to the company's flagship breakthrough: non-invasively determining the sex of a chick embryo inside an egg in under a second, offering a humane alternative to chick culling.

Recognised as a TUM Entrepreneur of Excellence, she now steers Orbem's scientific expansion as the company moves from  from poultry into fresh produce and eventually human health applications.

Her table is for anyone building at the intersection of deep science, hardware, and commercialisation — or wondering how you take a PhD thesis and turn it into a product the world actually needs.
