Julian Geist
About
Julian is an Equity Partner at FGS Global and leads the Munich office. He‘s a company builder at FGS, and helps others build companies: from early stage founders to some of the largest corporates on the planet. A seasoned Communications and Public Affairs leader, he brings deep expertise in strategic positioning, growth initiatives and innovation, with a track record of transformational mandates spanning the globe.
Before joining FGS Global in 2020, Julian was one of Europe’s most visible media executives for over two decades. As EVP Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, he guided the company from private equity ownership (and penny-stock status) into Germany’s DAX index, overseeing the full range of stakeholder communications. He later served as a partner at another consultancy, advising on international mandates.
Julian studied law, English literature and philosophy in Germany, France and the UK. Beyond his professional work, he is Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Patrons and Friends of the Bavarian State Library — a world-leading center of learning and digital knowledge founded in 1558 — and was named “Ambassador of Literacy” by Germany’s Federal Minister of Education in 2003.
A media devotee, capital markets enthusiast, political observer and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, Julian and his husband live in the country, with a large garden, a cat, a dog — and an enduring appetite for books, ideas and debate.
