Dr. Joachim Ziegler is the Managing Director of the InsurTech Hub Munich (ITHM), a leading innovation platform connecting global insurance giants as well as mid-sized and regional insurers with startups, tech players, academia, and policymakers.

A trained lawyer with extensive executive experience, Joachim has spent over two decades shaping the insurance industry. Prior to driving ITHM’s mission full-time in April 2026—following several years on its honorary board—he spearheaded product development, underwriting, operations, and claims management at Münchener Verein Versicherungsgruppe. His deep industry roots also include more than 15 years in key leadership roles within the Allianz Group, driving sales, market management, and product portfolio strategy.
