Jannis Gilde is Director Research at the German Startup Association and one of the leading analysts of Germany's startup ecosystem. He oversees the collection, analysis, and communication of key data on German startups, covering founding trends and investment data. His work focuses on the development of regional ecosystems and relevant subfields such as GovTech and DeepTech at German startups. He has worked at the German Startup Association since 2018, collaborating closely with companies, research institutions, policymakers, and partner organizations. Before joining, he studied political science in Berlin and Friedrichshafen and gained experience in companies, associations, and strategy consulting in Berlin and Brussels.
