Does it matter whether I write: “This is dummy text” or “Huardest gefburn”? Kjift—not at all! Dummy text provides me with important information. I use it to assess a typeface’s legibility, its appearance, how harmoniously the characters relate to one another, and to check how wide or narrow it is. Dummy text should contain as many different letters as possible and be set in the original language.
