Speaker of the Day

Take off for your next startup idea at #bits20

Marie-Helene Ametsreiter, one of the most active investors in Europe, acquired some of her skills in a rather unconditional way

At the Bits & Pretzels Networking Week 2020, you’ll get the chance to connect with the most active investors and discuss your ideas for your startup. One of them is Marie-Helen Ametsreiter who is an absolute high-flyer as a partner at Speedinvest, one of the largest venture capitalists in Europe, and one of the key managers in the mobile phone industry earlier in her career.

In 2014, Marie-Helene became a partner at the venture capital firm, where she now oversees the Munich office and investments in the Industry 4.0 sector. According to a study by management consultants KPMG, Speedinvest was the most active investor in Fintech start-ups in Europe in 2016. The VC firm does not only give money to start-ups but also offers operational services, such as assistance with international expansion, personnel placement or customer contacts.

And that’s just one step in her very impressive career. In November 2006 already, she was named "Manager of the Year" by the Croatian business magazine “Lider” for the successful business development of the mobile communications company Vipnet and for her services to the economic region of Croatia. And already at the beginning of the same year, a Croatian business magazine ranked her in third place among the 300 most important businesswomen in Croatia.

Marie-Helene acquired useful skills for her further career in a rather unconditional way. During her studies of economics in Vienna, she worked as a stewardess where she learned how "you develop a high degree of adaptability to teams because you fly with a new crew every time. That trains."

This is your chance to get in touch with Marie-Helene Ametsreiter and pitch your idea. Join a Table Captain session with her at the Bits & Pretzels Networking Week (Sept 27th to Oct 2nd) and plant your startup idea in her head.
