Digital health: Invest in product, not marketing

Digital Health has become a hot topic for entrepreneurs right now – heated up even more by the rise of the current coronavirus pandemic. In 2020 alone, the estimated global market for the industry reaches an impressive volume of 504 billion US dollars until 2025 according to data firm Statista. 

Temedica is a Munich-based startup, which creates different digital products in order to improve the quality of patient care. The company was founded in 2016 and has passed some major milestones since. Amongst them, the development of various applications for the treatment of back pain, weight reduction and a pelvic floor training. In January 2020, Temedica received a 17 million euros funding.

Building a successful player in the healthcare space and finding the right product market fit though bears a lot of complexity and needs a lot of ressources from day one, as Gloria Seibert, founder and CEO of Temedica, stressed in a recent interview with Gründerszene. As Gloria recounted: “It takes a lot of time and resources right from the start to bring an idea to the point where it can be used as a real product on the market.”
