Conditions of participation for the “Livedab” Giveaway

The terms used to refer to people (e.g. participants, winners), which are used in the masculine form in this document purely for the sake of brevity, refer to people of all genders (m/f/d).

These terms and conditions apply to the ‘Live Dab’ competition.

I.     Parties involved

1. Organiser of the prize draw

The organiser of the prize draw mentioned above is Startup Events GmbH, Am Kartoffelgarten 14, 81671 Munich. In addition to the competition website mentioned above, the organiser operates its own company website, https://www.bitsandpretzels.com, as well as its official social media accounts (e.g. on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).

2.  Participants

A participant is any natural person who carries out the action required to enter this competition.

II.     Eligibility to participate

1.  Any individual (in their own name) who accepts these terms and conditions of participation and holds a personalised, paid ticket for the Bits & Pretzels 2025 event is eligible to take part.

2. The minimum age for participation is 16. Persons under the age of 18 require the consent of their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to take part. The organiser is entitled at any time to request that a participant or winner who is a minor provide proof of consent from their legal guardian(s), proof of having reached the age of majority, or proof of age. Should the organiser request such proof and the participant or winner fail to provide it within the specified time limit, the organiser is entitled to exclude the participant or winner who is a minor from taking part or from receiving the prize.

3. Legal representatives and employees (and their family members) of the organiser, of the organiser’s affiliated companies, and of any companies involved in the promotion are not eligible to take part.

4.  The organiser is entitled at any time to exclude participants from taking part in the above-mentioned competition if they breach these terms and conditions.

III.     Start and end dates for participation

1.  The competition begins on 23 July 2026 at 00:00 German time (CEST). The competition ends on 28 September 2026 at 00:00 German time (CEST) (‘closing date for entries’).

2. All the conditions of entry must be met by the closing date in order to take part in the competition.

IV.    Steps to enter (actions required to take part in the competition)

1. Participants must create a visual using the following link https://livedab.com/campaign/D9S8QXB and post it publicly on their LinkedIn profile. The post must remain online on the LinkedIn profile until at least 1 October; otherwise, the right to the prize will be forfeited.

2. For the entry to be valid, the participant must use the hashtag #bits26 in their post and fill out the following form: https://share-eu1.hsforms.com/2T_LMcUkPTvGYLsNmSUu8kAg43iy

3. Each participant is only entitled to take part once. The participant must carry out the steps required to take part themselves, through their own personal actions.

V.     Prize

1. The prize is a Bits & Pretzels T-shirt. The prize is available whilst stocks last. There is no entitlement to specific sizes or styles.

2. Any additional costs and expenses incurred over and above the prize, such as travel, accommodation or similar costs, will not, as a rule, be covered by the organiser.

3. The prize cannot be paid out in cash or transferred to other people.

4. The prize must be collected at the Bits & Pretzels event location (ICM Munich) on 28–29 September. Once this deadline has passed, the right to claim the prize will lapse.

VI.     Selection process and notification of the winner

1. The winner is any entrant who has met the relevant terms and conditions of entry within the competition period.

VII. Disclaimer

1. The organiser shall only be liable for simple negligence in the event of a breach of essential contractual obligations, and such liability shall be limited to foreseeable damage typical of this type of contract. Essential contractual obligations are those obligations the fulfilment of which is essential for the proper performance of the contract and on the observance of which the participant normally relies.

2. Unforeseeable system failures may result in temporary or permanent system outages and data loss. The organiser shall not be liable for any damage or data loss arising therefrom. The organiser shall not be liable for any damage suffered by a participant, of whatever nature, caused by other participants on the website. The limitation set out in this clause 2 does not apply to the cases specified in clause 1.

VIII. Termination and restriction of the giveaway

1. The organiser reserves the right to restrict or discontinue individual services and functions on its websites at any time and without giving reasons.

2. The organiser reserves the right to cancel or terminate the competition if there are objective grounds for doing so. In such a case, participants shall have no claims against the organiser.

IX. Final Provisions

1. Legal recourse is excluded.

2. The organiser may, at any time, transfer its rights and obligations under these terms and conditions of participation, in whole or in part, to third parties for the purpose of carrying out the promotion.

3. These terms and conditions of participation are governed by German law, to the exclusion of its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

5. Should any provision of these terms and conditions be invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.
