Concept of a Masterclass
What’s a Masterclass?

Within our Bits Academy, experts, coaches and leaders from the international startup ecosystem share their secrets and insights with the purpose of personal and professional development of the participants.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, seek advice, get helpful quality feedback and get inspired!

The Bits moderator:

All Masterclass will be moderated by a member of the Bits & Pretzels team. The moderator will introduce the host and the topic as well as provide a quick overview of the procedure.

The moderator will also collect all the questions that are coming through the chat and communicate them to the host. You can decide beforehand whether you would like to integrate questions in your presentation or reserve them all for the Q&A at the end.

How is a Masterclass structured?

Please introduce yourself briefly and provide a quick overview of your topic and why it’s important to you as well as why it is relevant to the audience. Provide some short information on what learnings the attendees can take away from your Masterclass.

During the Masterclass you will be able to see and hear the moderator as well as see the chat with the questions and comments of the participants. Additionally you can also conduct surveys with the participants.

Please note that our conference language is english.

Will the Masterclass be recorded?

We will record all the Masterclasses and can send you the recording after the event.

Can I use slides?

As a Masterclass host, you will be able to share your screen and slides. Please ensure that the slides are designed in a way that the participants can see and read the content well and avoid crowded slides. All slides should support and underline your presentation.

What is the content of a Masterclass?

A Masterclass is an opportunity to share your knowledge, expertise and position yourself as well as your company regarding a specific topic.

Your content should therefore be:

Engaging & honest

The participants are seeking advice and insights that are going to help them reach a higher level. Therefore they are benefiting the most from your authenticity, the challenges you have faced and how you have overcome them.

Solution oriented & applicable

Your Masterclass is addressing a relevant topic for the professional or personal success of the participants. The focus should therefore be on sharing actionable real-world advice rather than the theoretical concepts.

Your Masterclass should end with a quick summary and the most important takeaways of your Masterclass that the participants can apply to their everyday life.

What were previous Masterclass topics?
  • How to prepare for successful negotiations by Matthias Schranner
  • The power of social media - how to do and how not to do by Ann-Sophie Claus
  • How to build a fmcg love brand by Anne & Stefan Lemcke
  • AI in practice - how to find the right type of AI for your business by Jasper Masemann
  • From prototype to mass production - things you need to know by Carolin Kunert
  • The power of LinkedIn - how to use LinkedIn best for your startup by Céline Flores Willers
Technical Setup

As the Masterclasses will take place virtually, there are a few points to be noted to ensure the best outcome.

Please consider the following when preparing for your Masterclass:

  • Test your internet connection and make sure you will not experience any loss of bandwidth. Ideally you will use a LAN cable.
  • Please use a headset or headphones with an integrated microphone that provide a high quality audio input and the best camera possible.
  • For your location a room with as much light as possible is desirable. A plain white wall is not ideal. Please ensure a quiet location to avoid any disturbing noises and please turn off your notifications.
Lead capturing

Lead capturing is only applicable for Masterclasses of sponsors.

How does lead capturing work?

We will provide a service that tracks participants entering your Masterclass. Attendees can decide not to be scanned to comply with GDPR-regulations. Within 7 days after the event we will provide you with the leads captured during your Masterclass.

Which data will be provided?

We will provide the following information per lead:

  • Name
  • Job title
  • Company
  • Country
  • Email address
