The Table Captain Networking is completely transferred into the virtual world and takes place on our event platform. As soon as you’ve logged in on the landing page you’ll see a corresponding menu item for the Table Captain Networking. From there, you’ll be easily guided to your individual networking sessions that’ll take place in different breakout rooms.
Hundreds of real entrepreneurial role models will open up to enthusiastic entrepreneurs like you by inviting you to virtually sit at their table! Limited to 10 participants at a virtual table, an honest exchange with the most experienced personalities of the startup world is ensured in intimate breakout rooms. As a participant, you can hear and see the Table Captain and the other participants and be heard and seen yourself. Time to start the discussion!
You do not need any specific technical requirements but we highly recommend to use a laptop/computer and Google Chrome for the networking sessions. Nevertheless, the Table Captain Networking should also work on any other of the latest browser versions. In general, use headphones to ensure everybody can understand you well and please try to avoid loud background noise.
The Table Captain Networking takes place on two evenings of the Bits & Pretzels Networking Week: Tuesday, Sep 29 & Wednesday, Sep 30, 2020 from 7:30 - 9:00 pm (CET). Each day, there will be two networking rounds of 40 min each. The first round takes place from 7:30 - 8:10 pm (CET). The second round from 8:20 - 9:00 pm (CET). As interesting as your first discussion might be, please be aware of the schedule. Make sure to leave the first virtual table in time as the next Table Captain is already waiting for you. But no worries, between the two rounds there is enough time (10 minutes) to get a hot coffee or a cold beer to freshly and punctually start into the next round.
On the landing page, you’ll find a huge and clearly visible button for the Table Captain Networking. Once, you click on it, you’ll find an overview of all Table Captains - each one tagged with their respective field of expertise as well as a short biography. Now you have the chance to choose four virtual tables you want to sit at. Two on each evening. Once the Table Captain Networking starts, you’ll join an intimate round with your hero with just one click. Watch out: the number of attendees is limited to 10 and the much sought-after seats at the virtual tables are allocated according to the 'first-come-first-serve'-principle. If the button of a Table Captain is highlighted in grey (not clickable anymore), the session is unfortunately already fully booked. But no reason to bow your head: There are many more visionary founders, CEOs and experts who are happy to share their experiences with you!
The selection process will start a few days before the event. We’ll keep you updated regarding the exact starting date.
In order to avoid unrest in the small networking sessions and to create the best possible experience for each participant, it is unfortunately not possible to virtually switch tables during the sessions.
Unfortunately, a change in Table Captains cannot be ruled out. We will inform you as soon as possible, but we’re not responsible for short-term cancellations. We’ll ask the Table Captain to contact you directly via e-mail so that you have the chance to ask all your questions.
